The Local Authority’s Flexible Short Breaks offer remains under review. Whilst the review is on-going, new referral requests will not be taken or accepted into the service.
Regular updates will be posted as to the progress of the Review and NPH are working with the Local Authority to help inform the design of the future service.
Nottinghamshire County Council supports the inclusion of children and young people with disabilities into universal settings. For example, we would expect families of disabled children under 5 years to access their local Children’s Centre for socialisation and play opportunities as well as for support and guidance like any other family. For those children and young people with disabilities unable to access universal settings then a flexible short break is the core offer.
A referral and assessment is required, and the service is open to those aged between 5 and 18 years old.
