Notts PCF Steering Group

Notts PCF is managed by an independent volunteer committee made up of parents and carers from across Nottinghamshire.

They come from across the County and are parent carers of children and young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.

They manage the running and operation of the organisation, ensuring openness, transparency and accountability at all times.

The Steering Group meet once a month to discuss ongoing issues for families of children with SEND, plan events for parent carers and feedback on meetings that have occurred with providers.

I got involved with Notts PCF as I want to make things better for others in a similar situation to me. Notts PCF gave me a chance to have ‘my say’ and have my voice heard by local authorities, health and the Government about how I’d like things to work.

The structure of Nottinghamshire Parent Carer Forum (Notts PCF) is as follows:

  • Chair

  • Vice Chair

  • Membership Secretary

  • Events Manager

  • Administrator and Accounts manager

  • Treasurer

  • Steering Group Members

Parents and carers can express an interest to join the Steering Group and are voted onto the committee at the Annual General Meeting. However, you can also express an interest at any point throughout the year.

I joined Notts PCF because I wanted to make a difference and felt very strongly that you shouldn’t complain about things but try to alter them.

If you would like to discuss joining the Steering Group, please contact the Chair via the online contact form. We can explain how the Steering Group works and invite you along to observe a future meeting so you can get a better understanding of what we do, who we work with and meet other members of the committee.

Come along and have your voice heard, we probably haven’t had the same experience or journey as you but which family has? As a group we can work together and make things better for everyone.

We also understand that members are parents and carers of children and young people with additional needs and/or disability, so sometimes Notts PCF has to take a backseat to your family’s needs. The flexibility to step-up and step-down from the Steering Group is part of our fundamental principles.

If you would like us to send you a copy of the latest minutes or agenda just drop us a message via our contact form
