National Network of Parent Carer Forums
Nottinghamshire Parent Carer Forum (NPCF) are involved at a regional and national level, representing the experiences of Nottinghamshire families at meetings and events.
We are part of the National Network of Parent Carer Forums (NNPCF) and the East Midlands Parent Carer Forum. There are up to 153 local parent carer forums within the NNPCF at any time. NPCF is one of those forums. Each parent carer forum in receipt of the Department of Education participation grant is a member of the NNPCF. This effectively means that over 128,000 parents and carers are involved in the network.
East Midlands Regional Parent Carer Forum
NPCF is also a member of the East Midlands Parent Carer Forum, which is made up of all the 9 parent carer forums in the East Midland area. Representatives from our Steering Group attend these regional network meetings to share the experiences and concerns of Nottinghamshire parents and carers.
These meetings offer a valuable opportunity to learn about what other parent carer forums are doing in the region, share what’s happening in Nottinghamshire, and exchange ideas and experiences. With the East Midlands’ Regional Representative, who is also a member of the NNPCF national Steering Group, attending, these meetings provide a valuable opportunity to relay information onto the national level.
This ensures that the voices and experiences of Nottinghamshire’s parents and carers are heard at a national and government level, helping to influence national policy and legislation.
