Regional and National Involvement

Nottinghamshire Parent Carer Forum (NPCF) are involved at a regional and national level, representing the views of families living or accessing services in Nottinghamshire at meetings, events and participation activities.

There are over 63,000 parents and carers involved with forums across all areas of England. Together they make up the National Network of Parent Carer Forums (NNPCF). Representatives from each region of England make-up the national Steering Group of the NNPCF.

East Midlands Regional Parent Carer Forum

NPCF is a member of the East Midlands Parent Carer Forum, and representatives from our Steering Group attend the regional network meetings to share the views of Nottinghamshire’s parents and carers.

It is a great way for NPCF to find out about what other parent carer forums are doing in the region, learning from them, and  share what is happening in Nottinghamshire.

The forum meetings are also attended by the East Midlands’ Regional representative (who is a member of the NNPCF national Steering Group) so it is a great opportunity to feed information through nationally.

So the voices and experiences of Nottinghamshire’s parents and carers have a route to be heard at a national and government level so they can help to influence national policy and legislation.

National Participation

NPCF Steering Group members attend the Contact and National Network of Parent Carer Forums (NNPCF) annual event to represent the views of families living or accessing services in Nottinghamshire at a national level.
